There are ''strong theories'' how abiogenesis ''could'' have happened on Earth. But no one has ever replicated the process. No one has every successfully startet with a bunch of elements and ended with life. Not even when using arbitrary processes, power sources, abiologically created molecules, pressure levels, using everything that's available in labs today, ignoring the conditions of the early Earth. We can create metallic hydrogen, antimatter and temperatures only precedented by the big bang in a lab, but not a single RNA string.

Why can't they do it? My conclusion from all this is to take all the current ''strong theories'' (like pic related) with a grain of salt and also that panspermia is more likely. Maybe the emergence of life needs conditions that Earth never had, like a lower gravity or things like the metallic hydrogen in Saturn (just to give an example for something that Earth never had).
