Improving it? Not my forte.
However, you should try taking a small object and feeling it around in your hand. Closing your eyes, and trying to re-imagine that object. And you will know you will have a composite understanding if you can then account it for orientation and where your hand exists in that space.
When you're comfortable, try create an image from words, and scale up the word count (and thus, the image) from there.
