humanity will not get wiped out by climate change however that does not mean it isn't an issue. Climate change in its worst will be experienced by the failure of many economies as its expected climate change will result in a global GDP deficit of 3.5-5% each year. The developing world will experience the brunt of the hardships brought on by this. Imagine the GFC * 10, repeating every year. It's taken Australia a decade to properly recover from the GFC (2008), and they were one of the least affected nations (due to the mining boom that occurred at that time).

I like this Idea, of us fucking the planet up. We need a fucking plague, a new way to wipe out up to 75% of the population, and I believe this is still one of the best way to make it happen.

The elites in power be hunkered down in their nuclear fallout proof hideouts with the resources to control any bartering, essentially reestablishing their power. worst case scenario (traditionally), humanity goes extinct, which isn't a huge deal. there will probably be sentient life again. maybe they'll have a better run than humans? just be psyched that you get to experience life.
if you want humanity to flourish, do something about it. i think we'd have to iron out some of our evolutionary bugs to truly flourish as a species, which begs the question: what does it mean for a species to flourish? is it to have a high population? to last a long time as a species? or the amount of happy-chemicals in the brain? say humans had unlimited potential; what would you consider to be the apex of humanity's potential progress?
