If you looked at someone you'd see their front and back and top of their head at the same time, then a huge black mass in the center, which would be the insides of that person, extending to two shoe shaped shadows next to their feet, because all of these areas are not illuminated nor reflecting visible light, so you'd just see darkness. If you're expecting to be able to see underneath clothes, you wouldn't. You'd see darkness.
3D vision is good for looking around corners and shooting enemies at impossible angles but not anything else. Frankly, thermal vision is equally useful without completely fucking up the look everything has, which would be quite traumatizing.
