Can anyone please explain to me why Ibuprofen works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins.

People say this, but the ibuprofen gel noticeably fixes my carpal tunnel within minutes and makes my arm feel like it used to. Even for a little bit.

To add to that, most NSAIDS (including ibuprofen) are competitive inhibitors of COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes. They are small molecules that bind to the active sites in the proteins and prevent them from catalyzing reactions to create inflammatory agents.

Ibuprofen works wonders for my migraines. I tried other painkillers with the same vigor, so it doesn't seem to be due to placebo. Aspirin for example doesn't do jack shit for me.
