I mean lets look at this:
Afterall.. sensory inputs from your fingers turn and eyes turn into photos that get passed through a nerual network that then produces outputs.
The outputs are trained such that the neural network produces values that are useful to the replication of genes that architected the construction of the neural network.
Eventually the output of the nueral network will need to take into consideration a rough approximation of the neural network itself.. ie; it will need to become self aware, and treat itself as an input to itself... at this point it is conscious.
It's that simple. Where in that mess is there room for a question like "Do we exist".
