the reason it exists is not for /sci/bros to discuss science, but rather because of a strange phenomenon. when there is big science news, if it is big enough, like a couple of Nobel prizes, then the people on /pol/ start noticing and it triggers them really hard since they mostly hate science. so to vent their anger they go to /sci/, but waiting for them there are /sci/bros who know about this behavior and have a sport of playing with said triggered poltards. usually they prey on their targets using intellectual domination, humiliation, trolling, or ironic nudging of the triggered-ness until a full blown meltdown.
