I have a weird raw feeling very deep in my throat (like at the collar bone). It is very subtle but there is definitely a rawness and when I speak it feels like I have been yelling a lot. I have had this for at least a week and it has gotten worse. I can even feel it in my chest. Now the right side of my neck also seems to be sore to touch.

I am going to see a doctor but I am wondering what this could be? I want to have some clue what to suggest the doctor check for. Things like strep throat, according to google, seem to be accompanied by fever/flu like symptoms but I have not experienced those.
