Long story short there are tiny shards of glass in my wine. The glass is from the bottle. Should I drink it anyway?

Apparently glass from alcohol bottles has lead, cadmium and other toxic chemicals. I do not want to end up in ER or damage my brain via lead. I already had some. You guys know science, wtf do I do?

When I was an edgy teen, (before teens were edgy,) I used to always just bust the top off my bottles and chug them. No ill effects... I do shit a lot of blood now tho.

Glass shards can obvioiusly makes rifts and wound in your intestines. There are a certain risk for permanent damage. That said, if the shards are few and tiny they usually get incapsulated by some sort biofilm and pass quite harmlessly through. Only a fool takes that risk though, and you should at least filter the wine like suggested by >>11043542 . I am not sure if any of the toxic chemicals you are mentioning has seeped out it into the liquid. If they have they might not be caught by the filter.

Even if they did you're dealing with such trace amounts you should be fine. I mean I'm from the generation where playground equipment was still covered in flaky lead based paint.
It's certainly not good for you, but its not a death sentence either.
But like >>1104423 said, just toss it, unless you're a gourmond you shouldn't pay more than 10-15 bucks for a bottle of wine.
