How does that work? I don't even hold any degree, merely did an apprenticeship heavily related to physics (granted, not an easy one or so they say). Never had a problem to get a job; I'll apply for two, I get one at least.

I don't get how physics majors are unemployed. Will no industry take you? Not even investment banking or the faculty at the Uni you're at? My ex is a physics grad and she could practically do anything she wants now

Most don't really care about a Bachelor's degree, if you have higher degrees then yes, your chances improve. I have a bachelor's in physics and I'm going through a data science bootcamp right now like a common gender studies major.

Wrong. Some chart I used to have showed that only 50% STEM graduates worked in STEM. That's an "unemployment" rate of 50%. Not even shitholes like venezuela have such a rate.

This is me, except I only have a BSc in math/CS because memes like this discouraged me from going to grad school for math (my passion). Now I'm just being a NEET because I've become convinced I'm unhireable due to no connections or experience, and a big resume gap. It's demoralizing to think that actual ability doesn't matter and it's more about how good you look on paper, and how convincing you are socially.
I do mainly nothing all day, but occasionally read some math texts and solve some practice problems. Trying to decide on the best way to check out.

Elaborate? I'm willing to be a software developer if I can get hired with my horrible resume and employment gap, but not really that interested in the other areas of IT (like tech support, or whatever other stupid shit that doesn't involve coding).
I might have the credentials to land a coding job since I did a dual CS/Math degree, but that was also 6 years ago.
I guess I might as well try before I an hero? But on the other hand it doesn't really matter anyway.
