The first zero of the (regular) Bessel function 1/2 is larger than the first zero of the (regular) Bessel function 1. Why is this important? Because this means that there exists a range of radii such that a hemisphere of plutonium is subcritical but a sphere of plutonium is critical, allowing you to construct nuclear weapons.
