It was never proven to be true. It's a rate of induction and has no speed whatsoever.

This model is another thing which confuses me.
The electric and magnetic fields are modeled as transverse waves on orthogonal planes, but these planes are 2d while we live in a 3d world, and if you were to make each wave 3 dimensional by rotating about the shared axis, they would no longer be orthogonal.
Would an anon be willing to enlighten me on how these planes are oriented?
I'm assuming the universe doesn't have an objective, shared plane for ALL magnetic fields

In what model are they set in orthogonal fields? You can maybe describe them as orthogonal tensors, but that wouldn't be exactly interesting nor is that related to an absolute orientation in space.

It does. The medium that all fields lay in is the "shared plane" even though its technically not a plane at all. Inertia. The tendency to do nothing is what all things share magnetic or electric.
