>>11041962Ehhh not really. Haven't heard of borehole electronics using SiC yet. From what I understand they still mostly use silicon, bore holes don't get THAT hot. Really one of the big killer apps for SiC microelectronics is making sensors for use inside jet engines cause those get HOT! SiC electronics aren't that mature, but work is being done on them. Packaging is may still be something of a problem. Recent studies do show that SiC, ceramic, and gold all things you make SiC circuits out of, are damn stable in Venusian conditions. Semiconductor foundry work is being done though, so we should see some interesting SiC devices soon.
