What are the odds of getting a well paid job with a pure math degree compared to the same with an applied math degree?

What do mean by relevant? Like on the job market? People only claim pure math to be chad because of intellectual integrity. And if you don't want to give them that you are pretty dumb, because the technical wagie cagies are usually living much easier lives and the development of mathmematics is vital to society.

If you look at the differences in the classes you need to take, there will generally be only a one class difference between the class for an undergrad degree. When it comes to grad school, the story is a bit different. But I'm assuming you're not talking about that. What matters is what other classes you're taking alongside your math classes i.e. what are your electives. If you decide to take topology, maybe it'll be harder to get a job. Maybe taking partial differential equations would be a better option
