Look at this dot. You can think of it as a point on the graph y=2x. Or you can think of it as the tip of a vector representing a complex number 5+10i. So which is it?
Or you can even think of it as an arbitrary function f(x,y) which may be, for example, a derivative at a given point (think slope field in DE). But in this case it is more like a 3D function since it can take multiple values for the same x and y (you can think of a slope as 'height' for example).
There are so many ways to think about the same conventional familiar things. This confuses me. Is there some sort of duality hidden everywhere like an Easter egg? Help me /sci/.
