I'm trying to figure out OCD, /sci/.
There are books, doctors, and even people who have done it who say going keto basically gets rid of OCD. But I'm looking into alternatives because my underweight and need carbs to maintain/gain weight (that and carbs are my favorite food). I also read that it's not carbs but grains (or gluten) specifically. I've cut out gluten and while it has fixed other mental issues, I still have OCD.
OCD is also caused by inflammation in the brain (and grains/carbs do cause inflammation), so I wondered, would intermittent fasting do the trick? Eat in an 8-hour window, and don't eat the remaining 16 which might keep inflammation lower and also protect your brain. But then, supposedly the mediterranean area has the best (or really good) mental health and they eat a ton of grains. If that's the case, then I have no idea. Has anyone else looked into OCD this much? What do you think?
