if it's listening to peoples problems and helping them, forget it. you've now made a passion you had with those close to you into a soulless commodity with strangers as you quickly realize how little truth is said and a lot just want some pills.
or you'll likely end up like my friend who is so incredibly smart she could've been anything but instead spends her time sticking up for tranny rights while we're out drinking. she could've been useful to society and now she's useful to a handful of people buying into an illogical fad who will ultimately not amount to much because too much time is spent pampering and prepping your body.
or if you want in on the research level, I hope you're top of the class smart, but could arguably be one of the more interesting career choices.
but most psychiatrists/psychologists I know are selling alcohol, or in some other unrelated job. you'll likely start out working a dreary desk job for a PhD with their own business tho, because early on your name is all you got and it's worthless.
