I'm studying Computer Science, and I'm a second year. I used to go to a advanced mathematics high school, and I kind of miss the math. Programming for me is purely for utility, I've written software that people encourage me to monetize, but I don't really care enough to commercialize it. Understanding math well helped me immensely when I wrote my software that now makes my life easier.

However, I've been hit with the realization that if anything were to happen to electricity, most of my computer knowledge would be useless. What's more, I appreciate the usefulness and beauty of math. Truly it is the ruler of all.

I'm stuck in Uni and CompSci doing the boring math like calculus for the nth time that are only based on stale solving algorithms and endless exercises. What are some fields that are useful and are food for thought? I've thought about picking up Probability or Economics for fun on the side. Logic also comes to mind.
