I had to shut him up and speak my own case in order to get released, the lawyer were as surprised as anyone else in the room. So yeah, I can see how you're sort of right.
But high end lawyers aren't going away, and especially commercial and international law. Actually writing new laws too, needs lawyers, can't be automated. It's mostly people with some amount of other academic education who can get by without lawyers, the plebians can't.
