What are some good books or resources in general to learn more about statistics. I’m thinking of doing econometrics in uni, so I want to see if I like the statistics part of the course.

I started in stats because it was easy af, first year is just calculating p values 12 different ways, gets reallllyyy fucking boring imo, so I went into math.
still like some stats related topics tho, probability is fun and intuitive I think anyway
pic related is a good book

Harvard has their introductory stat course stat110 materials online(inc.video lectures) professors name is joe blitzkein. Its a good taste of stats.

You dont have to like stats to do econ, it is just a tool to express the ideas. Quite often in non math courses they dont go into as much depth about maths, you just plug and chug the formula, its the application that matters. Stats wont make you necessarily better at econometrics. Lots of the time you wont really understand why you use the stats in econ courses, and lots of people get by just applying the formulae.
