I just found out that the black woman I knew in grad school got an assistant professorship. When her profile rolled up in my suggested network on linkedin I wonder how she’d turned out as a woman in STEM (a BLACK woman!). Well, it looks like she took the top prize straight out of grad school. Congrats to her!
About half a dozen other women in my department got professorships. Two female colleagues in my current position got professorships.
