umass lowell has good instructors, just their students are second-rate. that’s what happens when academics cluster in your small state but the ones who can’t work at harvard or MIT or BU or Tufts or BC or Northeastern or the other 57 schools in boston won’t hire them

They were at my school at the very least. Assembly language was baked into the architecture and systems courses rather than a separate class, but I don’t feel any worse because of it
Either way the mark of a good CS program has also to do with how they teach math - my school is theory heavy so, and the math and CS departments are basically the same here (research activity is almost always a collab between departments), so double majoring is a smooth process.
