Physical Appearance/Identity/Medtech/Customization

I find it unbelievable how so many problems arise from one's physical appearance not aligning with their identity (both in the private- and public-spheres) and yet there isn't any genuine remedy for this and people seem not to care.

Think of all the people uncomfortable with their appearance, uncomfortable with their sex characteristics, all the people born with disfigurations, all the burns victims, disabled people etc. that could benefit from more thorough research into radical body 'customisation' if you will in addition to greater awareness.

We aren't our physical bodies, we are our brains - our identity - and yet the default and greatest way in which we are able to express ourselves is through our appearance and our bodies.

I and so many others that suffer from BDD and varying levels of gender dysphoria are more or less prisoners to our physical selves that make us feel uncomfortable.

I sincerely wish that freedom of one's body morphology was a more discussed topic.

I also wish that research into genetic engineering, gene therapy, genome sequencing, genomic simulations, therapeutic and reproductive cloning, stem cells, body and facial development, neuroscience etc etc was more of a priority

Being able to look how you feel is a right damnit!

I don't want to look like a model, I don't want to look like someone else, I want to look like me, but better!

With that being said I know that ensuring shelter, food, water, safety and health for all people are greater priorities alongside a myriad of other things that need more attention.
