If you ignore all of that and treat it as a sub-branch of graph theory (more precisely, directed multigraphs or "quivers"), it becomes trivial.
That said, the problem with trivialities is that they are wholly useless, though if you're considering studying category theory, you've probably crossed that bridge long ago.
