The article is a compilation of citations and anecdotical sources of chromosomal disorders. Just because the headline states "some biologists consider" doesn't mean the definition has changed. Sex is still important because medical treatment varies in doses and indications depending on your chromosomes, in certain cases it may lead to a life or death situations. Stop spreading this bs.

Are there though? Assuming gender is a social construct, social constructs require social agreement and people being on the same page to communicate about things. Like how "money" is a social construct. So really, aren't there only as many genders as we can realistically keep track of in order to establish each gender as a social construct? For instance, everyone can remember "man" and "woman", we constructed those concepts around sex characteristics. Maybe even "nonbinary", people can get the idea that someone doesn't fit the male and female social roles. But getting into things like "intergender" or "bigender" or "demiagender" these don't seem like the sort of things society will ever be able to wrap its head around on a wide enough scale to make these terms useful to communicate with each other. You're going to end up better off just using "nonbinary" for most of them.

Gender started replacing the word Sex during the 70's, and since very few people knew about Money's research at the time it was accepted as a 'nice' way to say Male and Female.
This is why the whole argument of "there can't be more than two genders" exists in the first place, because entire generations of English speakers were misled on the history of a made up word, something that could not done with the access to information we have today.
