How do you "characterize" genes? I understand the term characterize, but I feel like there are a billion ways to do this. I have to write a report on how I would characterize human TRP channels and I don't really have a lot of scientific background. I know what TRP channels do, how they are activated/deactivated, where they are typically expressed and what diseases it causes due to malfunction but I have zero lab technical experience.
