Do you have experience in research? If you don't, I can enlighten you. You have to constantly publish papers because it affects everything, but most importantly $$$ for you and the department/faculty/uni.
It's a job, just like any other.
I work in pure maths and the share of bullshit papers is low. I have reviewed the methodology of some sociology/economics/econometrics papers and they are mostly very derivative.
As for your picture - nothing bad about a template. Looking through the abstract should give me the idea about the paper very quickly, abstract is not a place for creativity.
