the symbols are the same (or in fact the same as any base). you just throw away all the algorithms of arithmetic and treat each symbol (I,II,III,IIII) as a unique digit.

it is algorithmically distinct from base 1 in the following sense: no complex algorithm for arithmetic exists. the only way to add x + y is to count y symbols up from x. the only way to multiply x * y is to count y symbols x times. etc

the cardinality ideas presented by the following posts are I believe invalid, the two sets (the reals and the cardinals) cannot be unified

So what if we mark these numbers up to infinity by some sort of modular loop, where 0,1,2,3,...,7,8,9 and then it repeats like 10, 11, 12,13,...,17,18,19,20,...

Then we could recycle the symbols, and keep the infinite base!
