I will be going to university at a top university (ETH). I still ponder which subject I want to make my bachelors in. because there is no majors and minors, I will have to ultimately decide which subject I prefer.
I think I am more interested in mathematics because of aspergers and I would definitely want to take courses on more abstract ideas like topology or abstract algebra, which you won't have in a CS degree. I would probably have to stay in academia and do teaching/research or try to get a job in IT/IT-research because I don't want to end up in finance or teching 18-year-olds and become depressed.
A CS degree offers more job opportunities and unlike in the US, here CS is not taught like software engineering but more like a subgroup of mathematics so I (should) feel satisfied in my mathematical education. However I fear that I won't enjoy it as much as a mathematics degree. Also I am interested in a career in cybersecurity, which is very math-heavy.
Does someone with a mathematics masters degree get into IT-research like machine learning easily?

Which path do math/CS students suggest?
