This is real. As I kid I brushed religiously morning and night as I had a dentist phobia, also had a really good diet, very little candy etc, I had to get fillings every six months anyway though until all my molars had fillings. I'm a bit of an anarchist though and after going to the dentist like 20 times and having a wisdom rot and become infected withing six months of breaking through the gum, I just snapped and was like "fuck this" and stopped brushing.
That was ten years ago, my bad breath went away, my gum infections, teeth stopped rotting, sensitivity went away, the whole deal,
I regularly eat candy in bed before I go to sleep and I haven't needed a dentist in a decade.
The reason is ingredients in the toothpaste are poisonous as fuck, sodium Laurel sulfate is an anionic surfactant, it's liquifies cells through disrupting the bi lipid membrane through saponification, and the industrial grade antibiotics and biocides, rub them into your gums with a brush? Fuck that, teeth naturally remineralise, my theory is if you have natural bacterial colonies in your mouth the "plaque" is beneficial rather than the harmful stench bacterial you get after you douch your mouth and kill all your cells making sure your mouth is basically an incubation chamber for pathogens.
Tooth brushing will go the way of vaginal douching in the future.
Try it one time, for like a fortnight , the natural mouth bacterial need a little while to colonize.
