What's the difference between Justin Beiber and Greta Thunberg, except for the fanbase?
She is nothing but a climate pop-star, used as a pawn for adults to push their own motives and agendas. Maybe the first of her kind, but she'll burn out and crash like any other child star when she hits 20-21 years old. Look at the recent interview in the UN, it's already started. Imagine being 16 years old and already promising voluntary celibacy, eternal vegetarianism, 0 travels (when unable to be privately shipped by a multi million dollar sailing ship + crew) and so much more, with the world's eye staring at any mistake/hypocrisy committed. I wouldn't wish something like that on my worst enemy.
Now also compare the media coverage between Beiber and Thunberg. The main difference is the type of newspaper, the articles are the same. Tabloids reports about Beibers every move, much like larger news papers report about Thunbergs every move. The reporting in itself is the same.
Note that this is a meta discussion, I like Beibers music just as much as I like Thunbergs opinions, both are very well produced considering the vast amount of money backing both of them. It's not what they stand for which is infuriating, it's the behavior of their supporters.
