GMOs get a bad reputation for certain uses. With apples, there is a ton of pesticide that is used to prevent bugs from eating them. Normal apples wouldn't be able to resist this amount of pesticide, but with GMOs, the apples can survive. The problem here isn't the GMOs, but the amount of pesticide in the apples. GMOs have some other good uses too. Seedless watermelon isn't natural, its a GMO. I haven't done enough research to see if there is really anything bad about GMOs, but I know the story is greatly exaggerated.
