hey /sci/. i am currently in 12th grade and want to get in CS. how do i get good at math to get decent scores on exam? i am actually good at math but i have not touched any of it in a long time so forgot most of it. what are the books i should read? thanks.

Find a calc textbook and work all the problems. You could probably teach yourself well enough to pass those AP exams with a 5 and skip a couple undergrad classes.

The important math in CS is the basics, especially how you solve problems procedurally instead of declaratively.
Review high school math on Khan academy.
Read some of Basic Mathematics, by Serge Lang. Try to get an idea of how to read and write proofs.
Get an Algorithms book like Dasgupta and work through it. This is a concise introduction to most of the CS theory you will need in undergrad.

The best math book I've ever read that seriously helped me and got me in love with math is Algebra by Gelfand. Do a few pages of this book a day, don't push yourself too much, and it's a great experience. Make sure you do all the problems though. Don't pussy out and skip. Struggling through a problem is better than being able to do one right off the bat. And solutions are available online too. Try it out.(That is if you're serious about getting good at math)

This, but review Algebra and Trigonometry first since you "forgot most of it". You can use Stewarts Calculus for now. Check on Library Genesis for it (you can find pretty much any book there).

Same here anon. You do not need decent math ability to go into CS though unless you're planning on doing computer engineering, theoretical CS or stuff with machine learning
