Statistics is:
>simple
>useful
>a vaccine against numbers fuckery, misleading charts and "data points"

It's a great subject, but WHY is it always taught so poorly? The most useful parts of it that your average Joe can benefit from, are all based on relatively intuitive, easy-to-demonstrate stuff. But the way people talk about it, you'd think it's some kind of high-level esoteric math. It's not. It's super fucking simple.

Why are things like this? Is it statistics experts desperately trying to maintain a sense of superiority & importance? Is it a conspiracy to keep average people susceptible to numerical propaganda? What the fuck? Has anyone had a GOOD stats teacher, or textbook? Ugh
