a while ago there was the /pol/ island idea to take over a island and it fell through, we should be making our own artificial island. before u say that itd cost trillions i have a plan for it to cost a few ten thousands. we can genetically engineer Coccolithophore to be faster reproducing and to interlink and mineralize once they fall the the sea floor. over months this could form a large reef like structure and form an artificial island on the areas shallower than 30 meters. we would effectively create a coral island but 1000 times faster. it would have a surface area of around 6000 km squared if we include the north bank, this is about the size of Palestine. or 3 times bigger than Mauritius. other than the cost of genetically engineering the algae seed sample it doesnt cost anything other than the boat trip out there, one professor attempted to build a micronation out there using electrodeposited coral on a metal frame. but he ended up dying before he could go through with his plans 12 years ago
