The natural world doesn't seem to imply some kid of greater purpose, so I guess we're just entertaining ourselves until we die, but some use others to serve for them so they can be extra entertained at the loss of freedom of another.
I personally don't find any other purpose more entertaining and puzzling than the pursuit of knowledge. I want a society where the mind is safe and developed. Basically a huge college the size of a city, that's blocked off from any hooligans, where all the people do is learn, study, research and mine in the seemingly vast pursuit of knowledge. Automation would make it pretty simple to create, and then it would just be a matter of getting energy. We can keep a few pet smooth brains and make them engineers to maintain our power systems.
