Unironically, should schools stop making math a mandatory subject past the 8th grade or so? Unless you enjoy doing it (or a very smart) you're neve going to be good at it and unless you're good at it, you're never gonna have any use for it, at college or elsewhere.

Literally all you need maths for on a day to day basis is rules of three (to figure out how much products actually cost when shopping), some basic percentage calculation for contracts and insurance, and perhaps a tiny bit of geometry to figure out how many sqft your apartment has and where you can fit your couch. THAT'S IT.

There should be small math courses at every school that pool the willing or talented students from all the classes, roughly equivalent to the number of students who will go on to persue STEM degrees.
