Maybe this belongs on /lit/ but oh well.

I'm starting grad school this week and haven't done any real critical reading and digestion of academic material in a couple years, and I feel like my reading speed/comprehension has declined. I easily lose focus when I read (working on getting back on adhd meds) and find that I will have to re read things a couple of times to really grasp them. Problem is, I don't have the time to afford spending 2 hours reading a few pages in a textbook. I have a high volume of work and not much time to complete it.

My question for /sci/ is, is there any way to increase my reading comprehension/speed , other than by just doing my school work? Are there any apps I can use, or particular metacognitive strategies I can employ? Thank you.
