If synesthetes report so many forms of synesthesia, doesn't that mean the average person has more than 5 senses?
Like, if pairings like "sound-kinetics," "sound-shape," and "sound-touch" are reported as distinct experiences instead if just "sound-feeling", then a sense of motion, a sense of space, and a sense of touch are distinct, right?
Wouldn't that mean the average person has something like two dozen distinct, non-crosswired senses? Why go with 5?
