Burying logs, while a pretty good idea for carbon sequestration, it is not viable in an economic manner. Some companies and countries have lumber storage programs that sink logs into bodies of water in order to preserve them. In locations in Canada, sunken logs from 100+ years ago are highly sought after for their exceptional wood.
