What are concepts for artificially reducing the impact of G-force on man and machine?
I love scifi movies and games and it always boggles me that the ones with the more realistic approach have you accelerating half way, then do a 180 and engine brake til you are there. The idea just doesn't sound cool and ships would look stupid, plus the romantic concept of a bridge with windows heading forwards/giant thrusters out of the ass can't be incorporated.
Even worse is how WWII style dogfighting or dodging stuff on dodgy flight paths is basically restricted to how much the pilot can handle without passing out or turning into goo. We have the same problem already with jets btw when the sim has G's turned on it feels restrictive as fuck.
My first idea was... quiet stupidly to be fair artificial mass that casts gravity.
I know we are nowhere there because that would be a technological breaking point that would solve all kinds of problems, but I can't be the first person to have thought about that.
Now how could a G-dampener look like and what would it's power/efficiency depend on?
Just help me to make my space dumpster be capable of vertically dive bombing it through a dense asteroid field, into a high pressure atmosphere to pull all the G's, going back horizontal at 1000meters, but at mach8 and barely clearing the ground. Thanks.
