What's with /sci/'s absolute despise for computer "scientists"? The term scientists is definitely misused here, but given that it's basically pure mathematics when you get to it (which apparently this board loves to drool over) then it's a bit of a puzzle.

I do know more than my fair share of obnoxious "computer scientists" which do nothing else than do IT for their dad's shitty firm and claim you don't know shit, but I guess I'm a bit of a moral fag to think not to judge the field over an individual.

Even if you think lambda calculus is delusional, since it assumes no internal state of a function, which is impossible given that deep down either there is or there isn't current going through a wire there's no denying the advancement of computers is essential to the development of other fields.

so what is it then /sci/ why do you hate CS?
