Physically traveling through time is indeed impossible.
It's not yet possible to disprove the transferral of information from other timelines through quantum mechanics, though. See the delayed quantum eraser.

The only “time” travel that is possible is localized time travel and that would simply be reversing whatever forces occurred for how long you want while you sit outside the reversion zone.
