The earth has a core temperature of 6,000 C, easily enough to provide warmth for the next several billion years. But could we actually establish some kind of civilization underground with our current tech?
Could we still live on the surface using artificial heat sources? It's taken for granted that 99.5% of the human species dies off immediately, so it's a much smaller number of people we're providing for.
