It's a pretty shitty metric for "quantum supremacy." I thought the established line-in-the-sand was that the quantum computer could run an algorithm and verify its result faster than the best classical computer currently in use. Doesn't seem like that's what happened.
One thing's for sure: they're progressing faster than a lot of people expected.

>>10992086You forget that for now, Google's employees are actual humans with blood running through their veins and opinions about the actions of their own employer. They're not all malicious, and if the US government mandated the break up of Alphabet Inc, I'm pretty sure a lot of their highest payed engineers and data scientists would be OK with the move, so long as their pay didn't suffer.
