Medical storytime

Heard a screwed-up but admittedly hilarious medical story in my physiology lecture.
As a preface, I need to introduce you to the Meringue (pic related), it's a desert that's nothing more than whipped egg whites and a tonne of sugar. Also keep in mind that the protein that allows egg to turn solid when it's heated/whipped is albumin.

So here's the scene, a diabetic man enters hospital because of renal failure. The Docs do some urine tests and realise he's pissing out his blood proteins. Usually there are cells that physically block these very proteins from being excreted by the kidneys but these cells were dysfunctional in this instance. Now much like eggs our blood is full of albumin so this patient was effectively peeing egg whites into the toilet. In a tragic twist though, the man was also diabetic and so not only was there albumin in that urine, there was plenty of sugar and so you can see where I'm going with this...

mfw man pisses out deserts made from his own blood.
