>Is this field going to fizzle out, or will it change our world?No. But much like plastic, 3d-printing and the microwave, it will settle down into a role in society. It wont take over entirely.
>Will AI automate everyone's job?No. Only certain areas, such as pilots, truckers, customer service and code-monkey programming, repetitive tasks which require little to no creative thinking. In the end, humans communicate with too much sentiment. A creative mind is required to fulfill an idea, decode whatever the other person is saying. This, an AI can't do, since AI's are too, mostly to the fault of the humans not knowing what they actually want.
