Anyway, the point is that all the subjects would come back to the doctor asking to set the stimulator to a higher stimulation level. The doctor would refuse as this was medically unnecessary. But the patients persisted. One of the patients became so addicted to self-stimulation, she did nothing but sit at home all day long pressing her self-stimulator button. She was eventually abandoned by her family. I don't remember what happened to her after that.
