The chemical formula for hemoglobin is C2952 H4664 O832 N812 S8 Fe4, making it the most complex molecule out there which also happens to be responsible for our survival. Could this structure have come about through random chance over time during evolution? Why was the fact that it's this complex never emphasized during my upper biochemistry lectures? We studied hemoglobin for over a month and we only paid attention to the Fe group and the transport system, but never addressed how big and complex this molecule is. Why is this?
