IQ is a good system of mesuaring intelligence and it correlates with many things. But sometimes it fails, and because of this you get a shit ton of Mensa members who are untalented playboy bunnies, Porn stars with reduced grey matter, pro wrestlers with brain damage, NEET underachievers and Jimmy Savile. It's very obvious that these people aren't intelligent.
Nevertheless, many theoretical physicists, inventors and (actual) geniuses score high on IQ tests too. I think people are dismissive of IQ because they pay more attention to the HIS members rather than the former group I just mentioned.
